Prior to medical school, Dr. Lombardo had always been involved in music, theater and the arts. Her educational background began with a degree in Art from DePaul University in Chicago, IL followed by attending the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, IL. She went on to the University of Illinois at Chicago to obtain a minor in Chemistry to fulfill the requirements for attending medical school.
During clinical rotations in medical school, Dr. Lombardo discovered the unique and ideal way to combine her new interest in medicine and her background in art: Cosmetic Surgery. She passionately pursued a residency in General Surgery followed by a fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery.
The Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship training covered all areas including: facial surgery, body and breast surgery, post-bariatric (weight loss) surgery and non-surgical treatments. Now Dr. Maria Lombardo is a Board Certified General Surgeon and Cosmetic Surgeon and has been practicing in the Palm Springs area since early 2008. She started her own practice in the Fall of 2009.
Dr. Lombardo’s first priority for all her patients is establishing trust and communication.
