Your TCA Chemical Peel Procedure: What to Expect

If you decide to move forward with your chemical peel treatment, you’ll receive instructions on any skin care products or procedures that you need to avoid prior to your appointment. Typically, it’s recommended that you stay away from harsh exfoliants and that you protect your skin from excessive sun exposure.
During your chemical peel procedure, your care provider will begin by cleaning your skin. Then, thin layers of the mild TCA solution will be applied to your face. Your entire appointment may take about 45 minutes, while the peel itself will typically take about half an hour. Your care provider may recommend specific products to use after your peel to help your skin stay moisturized and begin the healing process.
